Startable Pittsburgh

Startable Pittsburgh is a free eight-week summer program in Pittsburgh, PA that teaches students ages 16-18 entrepreneurship and maker skills. Students develop, design, prototype, build, brand, market and sell products of their own creation by partnering with local retailers. Students earn a program stipend and keep all profits from the sale of their products.

Startable has seen exponential growth since its first pilot program in 2014. From a 5-person seminar resulting in a community play space to the comprehensive, 40-person entrepreneurship and makership program being held in 2016, the story of Startable is an exciting illustration of the Pittsburgh community’s dedication to helping build a world-class summer program for teens.
