Transitioning Workers into Entrepreneurs Program (TWE)
Are you Unemployed and looking to become an Entrepreneur?
Considering venturing into entrepreneurship? Duquesne University Small Business Development Center has introduced a program that assists workers in transition to start their own business. The Transitioning Workers into Entrepreneurs (TWE) program consists of a 4-day training program plus counseling / mentoring sessions to assist in transitioning from unemployment into business ownership. This program will connect those who are unemployed, but considering entrepreneurship as their next career move, with resources that will allow them to get started.
More than half of Americans are unhappy in their current jobs. Many unemployed workers are forced to take a job they are unsuited for or uninterested in just to pay the bills. They spend their days dreaming about an idea for a product or service and need some professional assistance in taking their idea to the next level. The start-up training program seeks to assist unemployed prospective entrepreneurs in living out their dreams by providing the necessary assistance and knowledge to move forward.

What does it take to be an entrepreneur?
Entrepreneurs must be passionate about their business idea and confident that they will succeed. It is important to consider that the idea you pick is one you have a great deal of interest in and knowledge about. Passion drives people to action and action drives success.
When entrepreneurs are enthusiastic about their business, it shows other people that they can maintain a positive attitude. Positivity influences not just entrepreneurs, but their stakeholders as well. Enthusiasm assists in overcoming entrepreneurs’ greatest challenges and inspires confidence in their business.
Persistence puts entrepreneurs ahead of the game by giving them the will to achieve with the attitude to succeed. They will encounter many obstacles and oppositions on the road to success but must overcome them. The notion that success does not come without hard work is true.
