Food Glorious Food – The Food Safety Program
Join the University of Pittsburgh Small Business Development Center and the Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) to discuss the Food Safety Program and how it applies to your food-based business. Jessica Shafer, Environmental Health Specialist II will guide this morning’s discussion on planning for inspections, training and certification opportunities, and food business plan reviews.
The Food Safety Program, established by the ACHD, serves the entire population of Allegheny County by conducting comprehensive surveillance, monitoring and complaint investigation for approximately 9,000 food facilities. Establishments regulated by this program include restaurants, retail markets, food processing facilities, caterers, warehouses, mobile vendors and temporary/seasonal food facilities.
